Leadership can easily become confused with visibility, control, or the ability to make others move. Jesus offers a different picture. The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life for others.
Christ-centered leadership is not passive, indecisive, or afraid of authority. Jesus spoke truth clearly, confronted what harmed people, and carried responsibility with courage. But He never used people to enlarge Himself. His authority was expressed through sacrificial love.
For those entrusted with influence, this is both a comfort and a challenge. We do not have to prove our importance. Our task is to steward what God has placed in our hands for the good of others. Sometimes that means making a difficult decision. Sometimes it means listening longer, sharing credit, or stepping into work that feels beneath our title.
Where can your authority become an expression of Christ’s care for someone else?
PrayerJesus, You are the Servant King. Keep ambition from ruling my heart. Give me courage to lead, humility to listen, and love that seeks the good of those You have entrusted to my care. Amen.
